Hi, recently I noticed that TeamViewer 8 on Windows 7 Enterprise was running in the process manager and consuming ~25% of the CPU usage. I haven’t needed to use it in a while, but today when I went to open it, I get no splash screen, no window, and no icon in the notification tray. The process runs when I start it, with a lot of CPU usage like before, but no other signs of it running are evident. I just uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn’t fix anything. I’m a computer guy, so I feel dumb for asking this, but I couldn’t find anything online. Thanks for your time!

  1. Just stop it from running with task manager. I have to use the task manager to close teamviewer 8 as it would close when i click the red x..ive gotten used to it.

  2. TeamViewer can run in 'unattended access' mode, where it runs as a service and allows you (or *someone*, at any rate..) to access the computer remotely. It may be that your copy was configured to allow this. To change the setting:
    Run TeamViewer
    Choose Extras=>Options
    In 'General', ensure that 'Start TeamViewer with Windows' is unticked
    In the 'Security' tab:
    Remove any password from the 'Personal Password' section
    Ensure that 'Windows logon' is set to 'Not allowed'.

  3. 1) Right click on the taskbar
    2) Properties then Customize..
    3) Check Team Viewer icon select Show icon and notifications
    4) Click OK and Done

I looked at the differences of what is running when I start the teamviewer daemon from SSH and what get’s initialized when I login. It seems that starting the daemon does not start the «wineserver» that is started as a user process when I login. I believe your instructions assume that that is already started. Having TeamViewer 11 Free installed both on the server and all clients. But I don't want for it to silently run on the background for more than one reason. I wish to be able for it to: Disable. Start the client without having the terminal flooded. Note: On my system with TeamViewer 11, after enabling the daemon, the client does not start.

Sep 13, 2016  Creating Launch Daemons and Agents. If you are developing daemons to run on OS X, it is highly recommended that you design your daemons to be launchd compliant. Using launchd provides better performance and flexibility for daemons. It also improves the ability of administrators to manage the daemons running on a given system. If running on Linux, try restarting the TeamViewer daemon, e.g. 'service teamviewerd restart'. I can't remember where I saw this suggestion, but this works for me. The explanation was that it's caused by a race condition. Hope it helps someone. Sudo teamviewer -daemon But this requires local access to the server, which is not always possible. I could make a script to periodically check (start and stop) the service.
