Step 1: First you need to go to Garageband and when you open it, you can see many projects. In the left side, you can see the option for “Learn to Play”. When you click it, a new screen will appear where different instruments options are given, like Guitar, Piano and so on. If by default guitar is chosen, in the main panel you can see one option – Intro to Guitar. Double click on it.
Step 2: Intro to Guitar allows you to learn about the basic elements like the variations in electric and other guitars, how to tune it, hold it and about chords. This video tutorial also allows you to skip between the chapters and you can control its playback, volume adjustment. Looping, slow play and so on.

Step 4: In the setup screen, you can also see another option called Monitor. When you learn and play, Garageband amplifies your learning using speakers. This can cause to huge noise and can disturb your learning. To avoid this, Monitor is used

Step 5: When you start, tune your guitar. For this, click on Tuner and it will open a new screen where you will see bars on both side of a letter. You have to play the strings and the middle letter will turn to blue. Your high or low notes on the bars are visible on the screen.
Step 6: You can now go to the video part. When you click on Play option, the video will give a tutorial about how to play E chord. While playing, you can also record the session using the record button. Your playing and progress in it will be scored by the app, for good- Green , Out of time- Yellow and Bad notes- Red.
Step 7: When you are done with the first lesson, you can click on “X” option seen on the top left side. This will direct you to the main menu. When you select lesson store on the left side, you have to choose guitar from the three options given there. On the top, you can see three free lesson packs, from which click on Guitar.
Step 8: From the Guitar option, you can download eight lessons. This will be shown in learn to play option. You can open it and learn at your pace. A good practice for each lesson can be done. The lessons are based on the introduction of various chords, rhythms and its combinations.
Step 9: When you are doing well in all lessons, you can go back to the lesson store from where you can download free packs -Blues and Rocks . You can also learn another free feature, Chord Trainer.
